BACK-UP NZ
Back-Up NZ is a national charity which provides adventure activities to assist with the ongoing rehabilitation and personal development of people with disabilities. They run courses which are full of challenges and provide opportunities to try out a wide range of activities with like-minded people, the aims being: to have a really good time, meet new friends and learn new skills.

Back-Up NZ came about when Jane Denton became involved with disabled skiing while at Otago University. She found very little provision existed for these people, and she set about establishing a charity which would give them the same opportunities as non-disabled people by using the outdoors as a catalyst.

From 14th August, you can tune in to Radio Kidnappers at 11:30am on the 2nd Thursday of the month, to find out all about Back-Up NZ and what they are doing locally.
