Radio Kidnappers is hosting this live-on-air speech competition for Y7 and Y8 students, involving several Intermediate schools in Napier and Hastings.
The speeches will each be 3 minutes duration, with a maximum of 4 students taking part from each school.
The speeches will be judged by an independent judge.
Topics will include: advantages/disadvantages of Bebo, advantages/disadvantages of cellphones, music, social networking, etc.
You can tune in and hear the speeches live on Radio Kidnappers 1431AM on the days/times below. An edited version will also be broadcast in our "Double Take" programme the following Saturday.

From these two semi-finals, the three finalists were chosen, and a winner decided.
