FOREST & BIRD SOCIETY

with John Hawkes (Hastings/Havelock North Branch of Forest & Bird)
on the third Friday of each month, at 12noon

The Forest & Bird Society began broadcasting on Radio Kidnappers in early 2005. The aim of the programme is to inform listeners of the range of activities of the Hastings/Havelock North Branch, as well as other environmental organisations and individuals that are associated with the Society in caring for ecosystems and the environment generally.

Our programmes feature an invited guest, and we interview them about their organisation or interests. These participants range from: the Department of Conservation, Fish and Game Council, people that have developed or are developing reserves under the QEII Trust, those involved in restoring native fauna and flora to protected areas including Kiwi restoration, wetlands and marine protection, to the children from the Kiwi Conservation Club, and those involved in educating children about environmental matters - and, of course, members of other Forest & Bird Branches.

As well as our monthly invited guest, members of the Hastings/Havelock North Branch of the Society join the programme to tell the listeners about recent outings, about the speakers at the previous monthly meeting (as well as publicising future Meeting speakers), and about any upcoming events etc.

For more information, or to give us your feedback, call John on (06)876-6668, or you can email him.
