RED CROSS

Monthly (2nd Friday), from 12noon-12:30pm

Our monthly programme on Radio Kidnappers started in July 2006. The aim of the broadcast is to create interest, inform listeners, and report on local or international disasters.

We are a team of 7 Red Cross members from around Hawke's Bay who meet on a regular basis to compose an interesting and varied programme covering such topics as: First Aid, Emergency Response, and International Humanitarian Law. Gust speakers include: local members, Red Cross Field Delegates, Regional Representatives, and National Office bearers. A reading from the book "A Memory of Solferino" by Henry Dunant - the founder of the international movement - is a feature each month, and from time to time an historical segment is included.

New Zealand Red Cross is dedicated to the protection of human life and dignity by the alleviation of suffering. It is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and is an independent humanitarian institution based on the fundamental principles of: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality.

For further information about Red Cross, please visit our website - www.redcross.org.nz - or phone either of our local offices (Napier: 843-0041, Hastings: 878-8438) for details about First Aid classes.
