Waiapu Anglican Social Services Trust Board (WASSTB) is an extensive provider of social services to communities within the Diocese of Waiapu, which extends from Tauranga in the north to Woodville in the south. The Anglican ethos is based and founded on the principles of respect and inclusion. Our mission is to "Strengthen our Communities". The social services outreach originates from our Anglican Church base. The Anglican ethos is based and founded on principles of respect and inclusion. For this reason Anglican services bring together a diversity of richness, and an approach which recognises the three Tikanga face of church in our work - Tikanga Pakeha, Tikanga Maori and Tikanga Pasifika.
Strengthening our communities is achieved by a strong local emphasis on managing our services and a community development approach to building our organisation. We provide a wide range of community and education services across our Diocese, including Early Childhood Care and Education; Growing Through Grief Programmes - for children and young people experiencing change, loss or grief; Family and Community Development Services; and Services to Older People - day care and home based programmes.
Our services are an integral part of the community, and touch the lives of many. The goodwill and energy of over 500 professional staff and 500 volunteers deliver services to 21,500 people in Waiapu each year.
Whether you are looking for a particular service or to learn more about what we do, we would be pleased to share with you our passion for high quality services, delivered in partnership with the people of our communities.
